Wheatsville Haul

I don’t get to visit Wheatsville often, but when I do it always feels like a special occasion.  I am literally a kid in a candy store about to get a great big tummy ache from all the yumminess I find there.  My most recent visit may not have wielded much that was new to you, but they were to me. New and delicious.

Sweet Ritual‘s “Sweetsville” Malt Cookie Dough Ice Cream
I was so excited when I found this.  When Sweet Ritual first opened I tried to go in whenever I could.  I worked near the little corner ice cream shop/ juice combo and loved it.  Unfortunately (and fortunately) if I ever make it to that side of town now-a-days I get health conscious and chose a green juice from Juiceland instead of ice cream.  With that said, its pretty obvious I haven’t had Sweet Ritual in a while so I scooped this up quickly.  It was the first thing I bit into when I got home and, to be honest, I was a little taken a back.  I have been a vegan for almost six years and I’m not sure how long it had been since I’ve had anything “malt”.  The first bite was a little strange so I sadly put the lid back on the cute little container and put it back in the freezer for someone else to enjoy.  Fastforward 10 minutes later and that malt flavor was suddenly all I could think about.  I had eaten half the container by the time Jake came home and insisted on finishing the other half.  Malt Cookie Dough is now my new favorite ice cream. By-the-way, the cookie dough is no ordinary cookie dough.  It’s made my Celeste’s Best and it’s amazing.

Whether you’re a vegan or not the Popcorn Tofu at Wheatsville is something everyone needs to try and, inevitably, fall in love with.

Victoria Vegan Alfredo Sauce
If, like me, you haven’t had alfredo sauce in years (probably because you’re too lazy to find a good homemade version *no shame) this sauce is for you.  While it’s creamy, I did find it a bit thin and watery so you may want to add some flour to thicken it up while you’re warming it. But its definitely a great alternative to the dairy-laden sauce of our past.

I still haven’t tried the Cheddar Style Cheese Sauce by Road’s End Organics, but, as always, I look forward to it!

To be honest I’m pretty surprised I managed to get out of there with just one sweet thing.  Well, two if you count the chocolate chip cookie from the bakery section, and three and four if you count the little goodies in the Sjaak’s containers by the registers.

Which reminds me of the most important thing I almost forgot: Chocolate Covered Cocomels. You’re welcome.
